San Francisco Fragments is one photographer's incomplete but detail view of San Francisco.

The book is divided into five sections. The first features crumbling old and disused theater tops in the Mission district and an old painted tobacco sign still intact off Columbus Street.

The Street Art section showcases fun and funny images of street art and graffiti. There is a series of stunning and unexpected reflections and a section entitled Visual Euphony which shows the beauty that can be found in an otherwise visual mess of power lines, crab pots and sea lions. The Colour section is full of lively colourful images ranging from legs hanging out of a shop top in the Haight to carousel horses on Pier 39.

None of these are 'travel' images. The photography isn't there to show you the tourist spots in an attempt to encourage you to visit the city. It is there to excite your eyes and to invite you to look behind the obvious in San Francisco - the cable cars and Fisherman's ' Wharf - to what makes this city so compelling a place to spend some time in.

Chances are, however, you'll be so enraptured with this view of such a fun and historic city that San Francisco will make its way to the list of places you must visit.
