About the Book
Old Light and New Shadows is a collection of 35 photos taken in San Francisco.
The photos have been selected from thousands of photos taken with half a dozen cameras over five years, with an eye to scenes that evoke the history and beauty of San Francisco.
Roughly half the photos were taken with modern digital equipment, while the other half was taken with the author's collection of vintage Kodak cameras from the 1930s, 40s and 50s.

Thomas Sturm
San Francisco, California
Thomas Sturm is the Principal Software Engineer for a large interactive media agency in the Bay Area. Previously he has worked in a video game store, earned a degree in Electrical Engineering, repaired washing machines, developed computer games and once helped write an operating system in a summer. He has also spent one year thirty meters underground for the German Airforce, apparently fighting the mole people. He can now usually be found walking the streets of San Francisco with a vintage camera at the ready. He lives in the city by the bay with his wife Kazumi.
