"Japanese Moments" is based on an exhibition held at Smith's Gallery in Covent Garden, London. The show was reviewed in the journal of the British Association of Picture Libraries with the introduction "Geoff Howard is an uncompromising photojournalist, with a highly personal view - though his view tends more towards the whimsical than aggressive social realism. This is for people who want to know about the real Japan."
A selection of pictures was published as a portfolio in the Japanese magazine "Nippon Camera".
Started photography seriously in 1966, studied at the London College of Printing 1967-1970, since then a freelance photographer, based in London, working mainly for magazines and book publishers on documentary assignments.. My work has been published around the world, and since 1984 I have travelled extensively in Japan, and worked for Japanese magazines and clients. Recent years have been spent travelling, working with a 40 year archive, and getting to grips with the digital world.
