M. Scott Johnson

I am a New York based Sculptor, Photographer and Educator. Over the past decade, I have explored both in my own practice and through my teaching residencies, atavistic memory, social realism and Afrofuturism. This has to led to lecture and exhibition opportunities at a number of institutions including: TransAfrica Forum, Hampton University Museum, The Baltimore Museum of Art, The Maryland Institute of Contemporary Art, The New York Botanical Gardens, The Embassy Of Ghana, The National Gallery of Zimbabwe, Harvard University, Columbia University, The Grey Gallery at NYU and The New York Botanical Gardens.
As an educator my residency exhibitions have traveled and been viewed by thousands at the Cork Gallery at Lincoln Center, The Town Hall NYC, The Schomburg Center, The Dwyer Center, The Williamsburg Historical Society, Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Art and the Library of Congress.
