Excellent!! I didn't have much of a desire to visit Korea.. And now I do- I suppose it's just that simple. Great style and appeal in his writing and photographic display! Thanks Jack, for sharing your experience in a colorful and inspiring way!

Jack Hoyle's photos of South Korea show an attention to detail and eye for composition that few photographers possess. And crucially, his pictures have emotion, a rare thing in modern photography. His images range from joyful to contemplative, bizarre to serious, wild to urban. There is a lot of energy to his work and his enthusiasm comes across on the pages of this book. Some of the images here are exquisite. A photographer destined for big things.

An excellent insight into South Korea, which is still so mysterious to the world. Whist I was Away, highlights the unique character and issues being faced within a country that is so developed yet so underdeveloped, so modern but so traditional, so fast paced and some how so layed back. A beautifully captured album to be proud of, great work!!

From cover to cover this book is visually appealing and packed full of culture. Mr. Hoyle has captured everything that is genuine and beautiful about life in South Korea. Having recently moved to Korea myself, I can relate to the reality of these photographs. The pictures are stunning and the story is true. I have enjoyed this book very much. Thank you, Jack!
