About the Book
During a ten month period in 2007-2008, my family visited Shanghai and Stockholm with the two weeks spent in Sweden and five months in China resulting in thousands of digital images.
As I searched for an ordering system to document each city I developed the concept of pairing the two locations shot for shot in a combined book. The result was a fun challenge of choosing image pairs that share a composition or subject relationship. Both cities are diverse, cosmopolitan and share cross-cultural aspects like the obvious Chinese food in Stockholm or Ikea furniture in Shanghai. What I have strived to do is find combinations that contrast texture, decoration and traditional symbolism found in daily walks on the street.
The book contains 164 color images.
