About the Book
Portfolio # 1 – Bears, is a body of work created over a period of years. This book project contains 156 pages and a portfolio of 238 of my best Black Bear & Grizzly Bear photographs. The photographs include adults, young and parenting images in a wide variety of habitats. It provides a great look at the behavior and beauty of these intelligent, caring and powerful animals.
The text throughout the book is designed to teach you something about black bears and grizzly bears. Topics include physical characteristics such as colors, size, intelligence, speed, paws and claws, teeth, hump and fur. It also covers a bear’s senses including sight, sound and smell.
This book will teach you how long and where do bears live. How much space does a bear need to roam and why. It covers what bears eat and when are they active.
Also included is information about mating, when are the babies born, and it explains how denning and hibernation works. It discusses if bears climb trees, do bears have any predators, and how bears communicate.
Finally, the book covers what to do if you encounter a bear and find yourself face to face with a black bear or a grizzly bear.
