A Day In Mabel's Paws
by Kati Hook, Illustrated by Mark Coleman
About the Book
This book is about life on the Hook's Flying H Ranch as told by Mabel, Kati Hook's french bulldog. Kati is the author of the book and lives on the ranch with her parents Tom and Paula. Kati was diagnosed with Friedriech's ataxia when she was 19 years old. Friedreich's ataxia is a disease that causes progressive damage to the nervous system. It is Kati's wish to use her positive mental attitude and her creativity to raise awareness that: Everyone has a disability of some sort or another. Some are just more obvious than others and that having a disability doesn't stop you from living a full life.
A big part of Kati's full life is her faithful companion, Mabel, who keeps Kati and others on the move from sun up to sun down on the ranch. See for yourself in "A Day in Mabel's Paws". The book is illustrated by Mark Coleman, a freelance commercial artist who was very honored to illustrate the art for Kati's first book.
