About the Book
Cetacean from cetacea an order of mammals which includes whales and dolphins.
In this portfolio you will see photographs of Orca whales, Humpback whales and Gray whales. Many of the Humpback whale photographs were taken in the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary of the Massachusetts coast (USA), some of the Humpback whale photographs were taken of the Vancouver Island coast (BC Canada) along with all of the Orca photographs.
There are two main groups of Orcas or killer whales in the waters around Vancouver Island, residents and transients. The residents tend to stay in the local waters and feed on salmon whereas the transients will travel further a field and feed on mammals such as seals and sea lions.
The photographs were taken between August 2007 and September 2008
