About the Book
American Light is about the celebration of light in North America, about two different kinds of light. The luminous and radiant power of daylight, and the way light is represented and used in art & architecture.
The book begins in New York then moves onto Pittsburgh, Detroit, Chicago, Minneapolis then moves down to Texas and then north up to Seattle through New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada and then descends down the west coast and ends in La Jolla, California.
I didn't title the photographs or use page numbers for aesthetic reasons but you will find an index at the back which will help you easily identify the pictures.
This photographic journal was twelve years in the making, beginning with my first trip to Martha , Texas in 1997.
