"The Average Man" shows burocratic people on their daily ways in Mexico City. An ironic tipology based on portraits of very common people, faces which are similar to other hundred of people faces who conform a society.

José Luis Cuevas / México City, 1973.
He has got a Posgraduated degree on Creative Visualization by Universidad de la Comunicación and the Course "Document and Fiction" by Centro de la Imagen, México.

He received the International Prize of Photojournalism City of Gijon 2004 and the same year he got an artistic residence in Orléans, France. In 2008 he received the Young Creators Grant FONCA and was selected by Descubrimientos Photoespaña. Recently, he has got and Honorific Mention during the XIII Biennial of Photography and an artistic residence in Bogotá, Colombia to develop a personal project.

His work has been published on several international media and has been exhibited in Mexico, Spain, France, Germany and China. Part of his work was adquired by Margolis Foundation from USA and the Fototeca Nacional in Mexico.

I saw this portfolio at the Centro de Imagens visuales in Mexico City and they were truly remarkable. Now only to spring the bucks and get the book.
