“Some people aren't going to believe that I’m going to be a mom. Boy, will they be surprised.”

And so began the visual and poetic discovery of Pixie’s pregnancy.

Pixie is a model, someone I worked with only once before sharing with her the concept of a project of mine that involves writing on women the poetry they inspire, and then having it washed off to make room for the next inspiration. When I broached the idea of taking this concept to her pregnancy, she agreed immediately. From that moment on, she made her thoughts and feelings open to me. Zack always held that this was her project, her story, but it couldn’t have happened without his support, cooperation and encouragement.
