I took these photos over the course of the year 2006 where I served as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps in Fallujah and Al Qaim, Iraq.

This body of work asks the viewer to contemplate the toll that this war is taking.. War has far reaching consequences and we, as a nation, have burdened the weight and the blood of those consequences on our warriors, their families and the Iraqi people.

Hi Katariina,

I like your book, and have produced one in a similar spirit, here on blurb.com, called "Priceless." It's photographs of Welcome Home banners made by family members at Camp Lejeune to welcome Marines returning from Iraq. I took pictures of these banners over a five-year period, 2004-2009.
Best wishes on your book, and your "audacious" work to come.
