About the Book
The willingness of the Sicilian people to invade their privacy permitted Barbara Ford Doyle to capture a series of black and white photographs. Her attempts to speak “la bella lingua” was an immense help. Her engaging images are not studio portraits, but neither are they entirely candid street shots. She did interact with her subjects. That was the point.
