Marcia Vaitsman was born in Brazil in 1973. She opened her own studio for creative processes "Estúdio Índigo" in São Paulo in 2008.

Vaitsman was a tutor for the multimedia and performance atelier and for the Department of Media Arts at KHM in Cologne, Germany.

Vaitsman received grants from the UK (Electronic Multimedia Award); Japan (IAMAS); the Netherlands (Prince Claus Fund) and France/Finland (UNESCO-Aschberg).
