About the Book
do it EA
do it is a traveling exhibition based on artist’s instructions, rather than objects. First realized over 20 years ago by the Swiss curator Hans Ulrich Obrist, this exhibition was designed to be flexible and open to interpretation. do it has been shown worldwide in varying galleries, museums and alternative spaces. Each version of do it reflects diverse voices and continues to inspire collaboration and creative questioning. It is an exhibition that never stops.
Beginning in September, 2014, The Episcopal Academy became the first school of its kind to host do it as an exhibition venue. EA’s version, do it EA, put this groundbreaking exhibition in the hands of pre-k through 12th grade students, their teachers, parents and the school community. Through events, collaborations, interventions and surprises all over campus and online, The Episcopal Academy examined, questioned, interpreted, carried out and generated the instructions that made up do it EA.
