About the Book
A collection of photographs made in the North Woods of Minnesota during March - May 2017. These images capture pages from the stories of life, death, and renewal on the forest floor. Each image is a beacon of hope, grace, beauty, and gratitude.
Marilyn Lamoreux explores the magical, mysterious and wonderful aspects of the seemingly mundane through the lens of the camera. She strives to reveal beauty, grace, joy, and ordinary miracles in her photographs. Her fine art photographs have been exhibited in several Minneapolis area coffee shops, Edina Art Center, One Yoga Studio, First Universalist Church in Minneapolis, and Unity Church St. Paul. After a 25 year career as a software engineer in the Minneapolis area, Marilyn picked up her camera full-time and began refining her photographic skills and artistry through making countless photographs of people and places and attending many photography workshops and classes. Marilyn embraces the idea that beauty is everywhere—you just need to look for it and you will find it. Things she cannot live without include a strong cup of darjeeling tea every morning, a bit of dark chocolate now and then, and good friends and family who light up her life.
