The Animals' Christmas is the first of several stories about a rather old fashioned but charming elf called Jiminy Tish.
The story describes how Jiminy Tish comes to the animals rescue during a particularly cold winter, helping them to have a happy Christmas.
It is suitable for children from the age of three years and over.
John Hughes was born in 1920 and served in the Royal Marines during the Second World War. He remained in the Royal Marines until 1957, travelling with his young family to places as diverse as Jamaica, Bermuda and Singapore. To entertain his daughter Vanessa during long sea voyages he started to make up stories about a rather old fashioned but charming elf called Jiminy Tish. Some years later his daughter illustrated his stories.
