About the Book
Edited from over a quarter million frames made over a 16 year period, “Welcome to normal” focuses on the anxiety that Americans have been coping with during the early part of the 21st century. Anxiety that at times has been exacerbated by war and the threat of terrorism, but mainly stems from economic and social realities.
While each of the book’s five chapters spotlight specific conditions, its main themes (insecurity, marginalization, social isolation, lack of fulfillment, and fear of the future) are reinforced throughout the book.
