About the Book
The book is a mix of fashion and fine art photography. In the attempt to capture the feeling of what life and death evokes, the photographer used different techniques in trying to achieve this through his various interpretations of the concept. One way was to utilize film, although considered by many to be an archaic process; it is undeniable that film produces a somewhat distinct texture in its images. Film, by today’s standards is a hard discipline to master, with its need to be precise in every aspect of photography; it was this challenge that the photographer wished to undertake through this project.
"Quietus" was shot with a Mamiya AFD using Fuji Velvia film. "Vita" was shot with a Canon 5D. A whole production crew was enlisted to help in the project, this included an art director, set designer, two make-up artists, a hair stylist and several production assistants.
