About the Book
The Poetics of Becoming documents the creation of the Parklands of Floyds Fork – one of the nation’s largest and most ambitious park projects – through the camera lens of one of the park’s designers. The black and white photographs trace the development of the landscape from a bucolic farmland to a dynamic construction site to what would soon be one of the most active parks in the country. The Poetics of Becoming presents the act of becoming though a series of paired photographs – each meant to create an open dialogue about a particular narrative of the park. These have been categorized into five different organizational classifications: Frames, Connections, Flows, Portraits and Moods. The Poetics of Becoming presents a photographic voyage to discover the poetry of a landscape in transition.
