About the Book
This book was created from the photographs I took while I was in Oaxaca, Mexico with the Wheelchair Foundation. Oaxaca is a very impoverished state in Mexico and getting wheelchairs to these people was a very important task, and the recipients were extremely grateful. Most of these photographs were the byproduct of spending time in this area. Many of the photos are not of the recipients of the wheelchairs. These are my photographs, each beautiful, and show a different side of the Oaxacan culture. For these photos, I took a photojournalistic approach, and stepped back from the people and tried to capture them as they are, in their lives in Oaxaca.
