About the Book
Syd Gibbons was a professional footballer in the 1920's and 1930's. Most famously known for playing more than 300 games for Fulham F.C. between 1930 and 1938. This book covers Syd's life from his humble beginnings of growing up in the Black Country Town of Wednesbury and his early schoolboy football career, through to the rejection of being released by both Wolverhampton Wanderers and Walsall. In detail, it covers each season of his professional career from 1925 to 1942 including the Fulham cup run of 1936 to the F.A. Cup Semi-Final and helping them achieve their first honour, the Third Division South Championship.
