About the Book
The Snail and the Bear is a retelling of Aesop's classic story of the tortoise and the hare. Unlike Aesop's fable, however, this story has an important message that goes beyond the moral that "the steady wins the race."
The Snail and the Bear is the thirtieth book that has resulted from student work in Kid Scribes, a creative writing and desktop publishing class conducted by Excelsus Foundation at schools and other nonprofits nationwide.
