About the Book
Salt & Light is a photographic journal, or "Zine." This issue contains the first installment of a project that captures seasonal changes in Zion National Park. The entire project was created with large format film using traditional wooden field cameras like those used by Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, and other classic landscape photographers. This process lends an supreme and inimitable quality to the images, while also encouraging a slower, more contemplative approach to image making, which comes across in the work. This issue contains stories, essays, and prose. It discusses the subjects of national parks, photography, social media, technology, nature, artistic integrity, and living more peaceful, authentic lives in an increasingly hectic and competitive modern world.
