About the Creator
David Penner hails from a family of photographers, and never tires of photographing the people of New York City, the city of his birth. He has published with F-Stop Magazine, SocialDocumentary.Net, Positive Magazine, The Village Voice, TPS Contact Sheet, and Lens Culture. He had his first solo show, Sacred Night, in the Fall of 2013, at The 1199 Bread and Roses Gallery in Midtown Manhattan. Additional solo shows have followed at Joe Coffee Waverly Place (Winter 2014), and at The Mulberry Branch of The New York Public Library (Summer 2015). His photo essay on homeless in New York City, as well as his photo essay on Combat Veterans, were both featured in Positive Magazine; and his photo essay on the people of Bryant Park was chosen as an Editor's Pick on Lens Culture. Also an active food photographer (www.dpfoodphoto.com), David has photographed food and restaurants extensively for The Village Voice, and for Zagat.
