Wintering in Albufeira is an ideal and inexpensive escape from the dreary winter season. Enjoy the warm and deserted beaches of the Algarve as soon as possible after devouring the Christmas turkey. I did this in the winter of 2009 leaving a snow covered Vancouver behind, I arrived at Faro airport on January 3rd.
After visiting Albufeira for 2-1/2 months I would recommend that you plan a visit even if it's only for 31 days. (Minimum stay for discount accommodation) I have put together some suggestions on places to visit in the Algarve along with some history and their respective GPS coordinates.
