About the Book
These photographs are taken from a tiny island off the south-eastern coast of Norway. Called a “svaberg” in Norwegian the island is a polished gem of smooth reddish granite, compliments of the last ice-age.
Countless trips over the years have presented a varying number of fascinating motives during the summer months. The weather plays a major role in determining the ever-changing patterns and new opportunities for photography. Sea- and rainwater fill small rock-puddles and ponds that dry up with crystalline effect. The seagulls’ surprising and transient masterpieces are washed away and show up again in new designs. The time of day and wind-conditions decide the texture of water-reflections in the lagoon and hue of the rock.
A real “Groundhog Day” for a photographer.
Enjoy the pleasures of summer!
