This witty and entertaining short-story collection has a variety of characters, subjects and settings.
Every reader will have their own favourites: the choices run from the twist in the tale of the ‘London Hit’ and ‘A Right Royal Affair’; from the emotions evoked by the ‘Ninth Life’ and ‘Dream Cottage’; to the ethereal qualities of ‘The Ring of Hermaphrodites’ and ‘The Choice’. Of the sixteen tales, ‘The Big C’ is autobiographical.
The final stories, ‘Two Whimsical Tales from a Scottish Isle’ are founded on the author’s deep affection for Skye and the Hebrides, its people and its culture and the plots unfold with humour to conclude in a rollicking good read.

Jane and James live in the royal burgh of Scone in the picturesque county of Perth and Kinross. This book, the first of Jane’s ‘scribbles‘ to be published, entitled Gordean’s Garden Adventure’ was inspired by her first born granddaughter, All Jane's works are dedicated with grateful thanks to the incomparable nursing staff at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, to loyal friends and colleagues, and to Jane’s steadfast family, all of whom sustain her and touch her life with affection and joy.
