About the Book
The story transforms three extraordinary grandchildren of the author and illustrator into even more precocious young nobles leading idyllic lives with their parents in Castle Evermore in the imaginary eighteenth century European Kingdom of Victoria. They, in turn, befriend and transform Crown Prince Theseus during a visit to Castle Evermore from the nearby Royal Palace. Much of this metamorphosis, that of the kids and the Prince as well, comes through the influence of the contents of a sanctuary on the Castle estate, a classical pantheon. There is much to be learned through symbols of buried swords, lambs, lions, The letters R, L, and T, kings, levers, fulcrums, books, and on. This idyllic life, however, is suddenly threatened by an insidious plot against the Crown Prince discovered by the children.
