This is a beautiful collection of portraits and I like the simplicity of the layout. I was in Cuba in September and found the openness and dignity of the people to be remarkable. If you are interested you can see the photo exhibition we put together at: Click on US photographers on the right frame to see the images in the show. More images from Cuban photographers we met are under the Cuban photographers link. Let me know if you do more books on Cuba please!

well yes, i was there in 1987 and 1992 and i am absolutely delighted to see that nothing has changed .. the impossible has been achieved, a dirt poor country, with poor soil and not much going for it, under sanctions from the vindictive usa, has managed to provide for three generations, excellent health care and schooling for ten million people .. where would you like to be .. haiti, jamaica , or here .. the people are not only photogenic, they are also actually very nice, and that is unbelievable in a third world country too

Nick brings alive the subject of Cubans with a varied and well composed collection containing both colour and black and white photography. A slim volume but one in which each picture has impact, humanity and in some cases humour. The Cubans are a resilient people and Nick has captured this national trait superbly. Highly recommended.
