To have a forty year flying career is very long and very unusual. My father began flying at the end of the war and continued through 25 military years with the RAF, 10 years commercial flying with Aer Lingus and a further 5 years flying cargo across the world. In that time, he experienced many extraordinary events , such as the Suez crisis, rescue missions, NATO manoeuvres, air accident investigations, environmental disasters. This book will be of interest to those who knew my father, lived through those years or have an interest in air force history.
