About the Book
In May 2008, the photographers of LUMEN, an independent photographers' cooperative, travelled to West Cork, Ireland. This book presents the highlights of this visit. The pictures were taken over 5 days.
LUMEN was founded in 2007 by three photographers who sought a fresh alternative to the established photographic workshop movement. Members participate not only as photographers, but also as critics, mentors and project managers for each other.
This book features LUMEN members:

I grew up in Malaysia, went to high school in Singapore and then on to university in New Zealand where I studied Economics and Business Administration. In the last few years I've rediscovered photography and through a combination of self-education and participating in formal workshops have progressed from vacation snaps to taking a more thoughtful approach. My main interest is in discovering and documenting the world, experiencing the magic and wonder of different cultures and lands - from the exoticism and contradictions of Cuba, to the passion of Sicilian Easter rituals, as well as rediscovering, through my lens, my homeland Malaysia.. I am a member of LUMEN, an independent photographer's cooperative. I am a former editor of Swiss Peeks, a series of Swiss photography books and former co-moderator of DigifotoCH, an online community for English-speaking photographers based in Switzerland. email@example.com
