About the Book
Based on the floatation experiences of 117 artists involved in a city-wide project to discover what lays beyond the everyday realm of the mind. What happens to the mind when one removes all external stimuli? What can the mind create when its distractions are gone and limitations melted away. We chose to explore these questions using art. Each piece was inspired by the removal of all stimuli. No light, no sound, no gravity. Just a 60-90 minute sojourn into the deep self.

We run a floatation tank shop in Omaha, NE. It's often referred to as "sensory deprivation", but we like to say "sensory enchancement". For, although many of your external senses melt away in the float pod, everything else explodes. Your awareness grows, your sensations improve, your mind becomes clearer and more refreshed, and your body feels rejuvenated and healed.
