About the Book
Say Please addresses the naivety of lovers and the ignorance of the lovelorn.
Each poem is a visceral reminder of the brutality, lust, hope, anger, jealousy, despair ,and defeat of love and heartbreak. Winter's poems are made all the more poignant by her admissions of infidelity, and her refusal to glamourise her mistakes.
The promiscuous poems and fragmented feelings that spill across each page are relatable to anyone who has ever had the misfortune to encounter the aches and pangs of unrequited love. Lara writes with an honest pen and a naked tongue, letting her poems act as the confession for the mistakes she made in love, not once, but again, and again.
Lara Winter is an English poet living in South Australia. She bites her lip when she's nervous and her left eye contains a freckle. At the age of 15, whilst on a Geography excursion, she told her crush that her greatest desire was to one day write a book. Now, with the publication of Say Please (while i break your heart) this dream has finally come true. To read more of her work, you can follow her on Instagram @larawinterpoetry
