About the Ebook
All the images are also accompanied with descriptions. The literature in many cases contains conflicting information on the objects, rough estimates of size, distance, structure and composition. Approximations are all there is, some better than others. I have composed a descriptive paragraph for each image in the collection which includes basic attributes on each object, along with a sprinkling of comments, telescope and camera configuration, object names, locations, and time of year availability.
LeRoy Goering received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics from the University of Minnesota in 1977. Mr. Goering’s aerospace engineering career spanned 36 years during which he became expert in astroinertial navigation and development of laboratory simulations of complex systems. He participated in a series of projects from the Space Shuttle to Unmanned Combat Air vehicles (UCAV) before ending his career in 2012. LeRoy then began his pursuit of astrophotography, set up a backyard observatory and developed this reference handbook documenting the hardware, software, and processes required for successful astrophotography.
