The ‘Olympic Legacy’ associated with the upcoming 2012 London Games will provide great benefits for the population - restored waterways of the River Lea, new parkland, community sports facilities, new homes, better transport links and tourism generating jobs. Yet a great deal of skepticism has been reported surrounding the timing and practical application of these aims.

This book forms the first step of a larger investigation where previous host countries of the Olympics are visited and a critical dialogue about what impact the Olympic Games, as a model for development, has had on the city and its citizens.
