About the Book
While beautiful on the one hand with an amazing history, it is also a strange and complex country that struggles within itself and ignores (or fails to understand) the impact of decisions on its own people and the environment in which they live.
I love a sense of adventure, and as with the many other countries ventured to, I visited China with no preconceptions. This journey was nothing like anything else I had ever experienced. I walked away having witnessed many incredible sights, a new definition of 'huge', a few new friends, and an appreciation of the clean air I breathe.
I suggest everyone should, (if they can) visit China with eyes and ears open. Remember though, not to drink the water, and be careful who and what you point your camera at.
About the Creator
Sue Harper has been a photographer since the late 1990's, both professionally and recreationally. What started as a passionate hobby in photography using 35mm film has expanded into empowering photographic images with digital photography. While still a part-time endevour, Sue's photography has been well known in capturing images of Northern British Columbia. Now living in Victoria, BC enthusiasm and excitement are Sue’s trademarks, and they come across in everything she does. Just ask anyone who has met her. Her optimistic, down-to-earth approach is what allows her to embrace the road less traveled, with all its ups-and-downs. There's always something to laugh about, and take pictures of.
