The North Rim of The Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is more remote than the South Rim. It is a different experience in viewing this spectacular natural canyon in that the visitor is much closer to the edge of a 2000 foot drop to the bottom of the canyon. At the closest point the canyon is only 1100 feet away. It took 2 billion years for river water to create the awesome canyon. This book takes the reader on a tour of the North Rim up close and personal. Updated 12/17/2009.
