About the Book
"Saudi Arabia-A very popular topic of discussion, most especially within the past ten years. It’s possible that our understanding or lack of it adds to the mystique and wonderment for those that choose to work and live in Saudi Arabia.
This then, is a brief of one man’s family who chose to do precisely that…mine!"
Rising Sands is Jim Anthony's brief, written in 1983. "After experiencing some of the things we have, and visiting the places we have around the world…I felt a need to share it with family and friends".
My Father did a fine job detailing our family's travels and experiences in the early 1980's. I have taken his brief and compiled it for this special edition, completed on the 30th anniversary of Jim and Janet Anthony’s move to Saudi Arabia in December, 1979.
I hope you will enjoy it.
A little about me… I have always enjoyed photography, and have recently taken it up in earnest. Having been raised in the South, primarily in Mississippi, Florida, and Texas, I've come to appreciate the wide ranging beauty and inspiration that it offers for photographers. I enjoy landscape, architecture, and also figurative photography. Much of my work on that subject reflects a classical temperament. In addition to multiple exhibits at the Waterford Homes Tour and Crafts Exhibit-Photography Exhibit, I have also previously been exhibited multiple times at the Oatlands Plantation Four Seasons Art Show. In 2009 I won the Best in Show for Photography! I also won 4th place in Architecture for the 2009 Waterford Fair Photography Exhibit. My work has been exhibited at the Loudoun County Government Center. I exhibited at The Galleries of South King Street for two years! Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions about my photography!
