About the Book
The photos in this book were taken at the 2008 and 2009 High Heel Races in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC.
This annual Halloween event has become a must-see for all Washingtonians. Even the freezing temperatures in 2008 and the rain of 2009 couldn't keep the over-flowing crowds from attending the races.
While it is obvious that the drag queens are the major draw, it only takes some playful creativity to join in on the party.
The race itself is a footnote for the evening, taking second place to a celebration of life and community.
