About the Book
During the infancy of my photography, I was influenced by painters more than photographers. I studied the works of Rothko, Still, Johns, and others while never making a connection to my photography. My moods have always had an effect on my photographs, and when dealing with depression I have always sought out places I could be alone with my thoughts and a camera. It was in these warehouse districts, construction sites, and other abandoned places I found the influence meet the medium. Amongst the paint chips, pollution, and rust I found my link between painting and photography.
