My subjects use the Mosh Pit as a platform to release the hostility and aggression. These images are the aesthetic interpretation of my subject’s violent expression. Portraits are made before, during, and after hardcore dancing has occurred. The use of black in the photographs isolates the subject from the crowd, accentuating the gestural quality of their movement and expression. These images were made in Northwest Indiana, Central Illinois, and the Chicago Suburbs in 2007 and 2008.

Too bad you couldn't have witnessed moshing before it was about drawing blood from fellow moshers...all the same, I enjoyed seeing this collection : D
