Historical Places Around Detroit; Pencil Renderings
by Kathleen Ruhl-Bourgeau
Architectural pencil renderings of historical landmarks around Detroit, Michigan. These drawings were comissioned for an annual report calendar through a local Detroit consulting firm. Featured illustrations are Tiger Stadium, Scott Fountain- Belle Isle, Wayne County Building, Detroit Institute of Art, Cranbrook, Gandy Dancer, Blue Water Bridge, Octagon house, St. Mary's, Henry Ford Estate and more. The rendering of Tiger Stadium was the original baseball stadium in Detroit and sadly, no longer exists.
I grew up in a rural part of the central Susquehanna Valley of Pennsylvania. I've always loved drawing and after a vocational curriculum in Commercial Art, during my junior and senior years of high school, I moved to Denver, Colorado. My art education was nurtured at the Art Institute of Colorado where I earned a degree in Advertising Design. I have contributed over thirty years of graphic design expertise in advertising and publishing for a diverse list of clients and I am currently freelancing in metro Detroit, MI. My present focus is on mastering InDesign, Illustrator and the world of web design through CSS. I enjoy honing my artistic skills on a regular basis. In my spare time, I enjoy drawing, reading, knitting, walking and riding bike. I love music and creating raw live food cuisine. I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
