As we fielded more and more questions about color management, rush turnaround, and large order quotes, we appreciated that professionals needed to be supported differently than consumers. So, after talking with many of you, we are developing the new B3 membership program tailored to the unique needs of creative and communications professionals. It will definitely evolve as we go, but we're excited to develop B3 into a world-class program. Here are the initial features:
Custom Workflow – Premium Upgrade
- Blurb hired a color management firm (Rods and Cones) to develop an ICC profile specially calibrated to the Blurb back-end. This ICC profile enables soft proofing of your images to ensure that what you see is what you will get in your printed Blurb books. By using Custom Workflow, your book will have more neutral blacks, better contrast, color saturation and fidelity, and improved shadow detail.
- When you select the Custom Workflow upgrade, your work will go to the same print device each and every time. These dedicated machines are regularly checked and calibrated to ensure consistent quality output. So the book you order this week should look as close as possible to the same book you order next month.
Business/Technical Education and Community
The members-only area of the B3 Web site includes:
- Instructional videos that walk you through the B3 Custom Workflow set up.
- Downloadable PDFs on color management, workflow, image prep, and more.
- Forums for pros only. Coming soon.
- Newsletter featuring professional book design and marketing ideas from Blurb and other B3 members.
Expanded Support and Premium Services
- B3 Order Desk – Staffed by real folks here at the Blurb office who can be reached via a dedicated phone number that’s toll free in the U.S. and Canada. They’ll help you with a custom quote, or order status, and direct you to the fastest answers for your technical questions. - Expedited Email Support – Sometimes email really is the most efficient way to communicate. The B3 support team will respond to email within four business hours if you're in the U.S., Canada, or Europe.
