About the Ebook
A photojournalist's look at various uses of signage in society today such as protest and propaganda. Street photography as social anthropology from the streets of New York and London.
I trained as a documentary photographer at the International Center of Photography School in New York, Class of 2000 and undertook my first professional assignment in 1991. I'm returning to full-time professional practice in photography this summer after an extended hiatus as a stay-at-home-dad. I use small cameras, as you've seen from the home page, and three lenses, wide, standard and portrait. No bazookas. No complex lighting systems. That makes me versatile, mobile, quick and quiet. Clients and publications have included; The New York Times Magazine, Der Spiegel, The Guardian, The Independent, The Daily and Sunday Telegraph, novelists Charlie Newton, David Morrell, Colum McCann, Matthew Blakstad and Rachel Seiffert, The Press Association, The Irish Times, CNN, Court TV, University of Scranton, and The Institute of Psychiatry. I have published three books and exhibited in solo and group shows in New York and London. My work is represented by Millennium Images in London.
