About Book
KITH & KIN VOL. 1
20 May 2007
Dear Cousins,
Robert Newsome and I have had a wonderful time researching our family history. Let me say in advance that Robert did by far the most concerning our Johns and Cox lineage and every once in a while I would recognize a new name he mentioned and jumped on it, while at the same time I was working on my Mother's lines. Between the two of us we have proven by official documentation that we descend from practically, but not quite, some from the first boat of settlers to reach the shore of Jamestown, Virginia. French Huguenot blood runs in our veins as well.
Our early family 400th "anniversary" will not be until 2010, as our Ceciley - Bailey Jordan Farrar stepped foot in Virginia in that year and our William Spencer, a Wylie Cox line, the following year. William Cox, through our Johns-Burton connection, came aboard the ship with Lord Delaware. Having arrived almost 400 years ago doesn't make us better people so much as the knowledge certainly makes the early history of this country of ours more interesting!
Aunt Nancy Johns Morris has seen almost one fourth of this period of time. Congratulations, Nancy!
We hope you enjoy our book...Bebe and Robert
