Diane Arbus once said that it is important to make bad photos.
I can't agree more: since I remember, I only made bad photos. But I noticed that, slowly, I was artistically moving towards a new challenge: making pictures which are not only bad but also pointless. Some time ago, I asked the English poet Jeffrey Cloves if he can write an introduction to a book that didn't exist. He said no problem. Then I decided to make a book and to use his text which has nothing to do with my bad pointless photos.

About the Author

Jules' Magical Books
hayon  Paris, France
I'm a creative director, a photographer and a bookmaker. The first part (which I like) helps me pay the rent. I work In Paris as a creative consultant for various agencies as well as a number of corporations. I do advertising, direct marketing, annual reports, brochures, newsletters, illustrations, web design and PowerPoint presentations that keep people awake. But, as Tony Soprano would say, "this is just business". The second part - photography - (which I love) brings me much joy. Diane Arbus once said that is important to take bad photos and I’ve always followed her advice. I had severals one-man shows in France and in the UK. My work was published in the UK magazine NextLevel. The third part, bookmaking (which I adore), makes me really happy. The Ag Magazine in UK wrote an article about the book I dedicated to my parents. For me, a book or an album is more than just a nice design: I always try to find a concept or a story around which I organize all the content. Like life itself.
