A collection of over 80 photographs, representing photographs taken throughout several years and through thousands of miles of travel across America. This is an examination of many unusual and neglected aspects of American culture. The artists' thesis makes a case for the relationship between how we view objects that are not useful, and how we view art in general.
This is an examination into the spaces where utilitarian objects, once useful and valued, become discarded as they await their final destruction. The photographs also record the impact of these changes upon our dying towns and communities.
Most images were taken with a large-format 8x10 view camera, scanned and reproduced nearly life sized. Stunning detail and clarity. Imagery in the documentary tradition.
