About the Book
This Photographic record details the relationships of Glaswegians (those who live in Glasgow,Scotland) to their city, themselves and each other.
Here, the photographic subjects look back at the viewer openly and honestly with accompanying words about themselves, their childhoods, what being a Glaswegian means to them and their hopes and dreams for the future.
Glaswegians talking about themselves throws up some surprising common themes and perceptions.
This collection of Images and words is a journey across cultural and visual landscapes.
Do you recognize the Glaswegians here as they see themselves?
Do they reflect the Scottish Identity?

About the Creator
Edd Carlile
Budapest
My name is Edward Carlile, I am a Scottish Photographer. My main field of interest lies in capturing moments that are all about us…you and me, everyone else all around us. I am fascinated by the faces of the old and very young…I look for character in a face, I look for a face in a scene and the scene in a setting. I enjoy Rembrandt low key lighting to bring from my subjects the shades of people past,a visual reincarnation of a visage that may have been here time and again and again and again. I am Scottish, born in the fury and pain of Post Industrial Glasgow.
